Chana dal are brown chickpeas that have been split and polished. These organic chickpeas are popular in curries and soups. Most dried beans benefit from an overnight soak. Rinse them clean and cover by at least 2 inches of water and soak for at least 8 hours. You can use the soaking liquid to cook the beans as well.
